The seat is 420 x 360mm, whilst the cover is 420 x 340mm. The distance between fixing holes is determined by the distance between the fixing holes in the toilet pan to which Freddie is being fixed. The distance can be anything from 110mm to 200mm. The seat fixings are easily adjusted by simply swivelling them. Depending on the distance between the fixing holes, the distance from fixing holes to front edge of the seat can vary from 420 to 440mm. Freddie will fit all the toilet pan sizes commonly in use in the UK, Europe, USA and Canada; if you're in any doubt please just ask us for whatever clarification you need! The simplest way to be 100% sure that Freddie will fit your toilet is to print out the image above and on a photocopier increase the illustration until the seat is 360mm wide (you may need to sellotape a few pieces of paper together). Cut around the illustration and you've got the actual shape of a Freddie!
Separating the cover and seat are four crystal-rubber (transparent) spacer pads, fastened to the underside of the cover. And protecting the seat from possible impact damage when the man in the house has finished (and the seat is lowered again!) there are six elongated crystal-rubber spacer pads fastened underneath, separating and cushioning the seat from the toilet pan. I can't think that this information has any relevance to anything whatsoever, but for the record the thickness of the seat is 15mm; the cover is 12mm; the overall thickness, from top of the cover to bottom of the spacers under the seat, is 37mm (about an inch-and-a-half in old money). The weight of the complete unit is 3.5kg (about 7.5lbs). These seats and covers are all individually crafted by hand; slight variations from the photograph in design and/or colour may occur. Freddies are made by pouring polyresin acrylic into a mould; inevitably tiny air bubbles form in the acrylic; where they occur the bubbles create an additional three-dimensional effect - and actually enhance the illustration of Freddie! Simple installation! Attaching the silver-plated zinc alloy fixings to the toilet pan is extremely simple; in fact it's so simple that a man could do it. (Just kidding!) The two minutes it takes to install Freddie probably includes time for a nice self-congratulatory cup of tea. (If you like I'll pop around to admire your handywork - two sugars in mine.) |
